The Area
The city of Peterborough lies at the cross-roads of major east-west as well as north-south links and has been an important trading and cultural centre for well over 1,000 years. Its magnificent Cathedral presides over the centre of the city and looks out over the outlying rich agricultural land of The Fens to the east, and rolling hills and limestone villages to the West. A settlement since Bronze Age times, Peterborough was a traditional market town and agricultural centre until the arrival of the mainline railway. The city then became an increasingly important stop on the north/south line. In its wake, Peterborough developed into a significant engineering and brick making centre. These activities have declined in recent years reflecting the country as a whole. With the expansion of the city following its designation as a New Town in the 1960s, Peterborough has now developed a strong presence in insurance, finance, charities and distribution and is home to some 175,000 residents. Its legal work reflects that diversity. |

Our Sponsors
The Society runs predominantly using member subscription fees, so we therefore also work closely with organisation interested in the legal sector and those within it.
Our main sponsorship focus falls in March/April when we host our infamous Annual Dinner. Around 130 lawyers, Distinguished Guests and sponsors attend this event which includes the presentation of two awards to our junior lawyers. We also organise a guest speaker for this event.
A variety of sponsorship packages are available and our social secretaries are happy to discuss this with you to suit your requirements.
