This year’s Annual Quiz took place at the Brewery Tap on Wednesday 27 June and, as ever, was formulated and hosted by Paddy Appleton (Hunt and Coombs).
We had 7 teams to battle for the Lawrence Bruce Memorial Shield including people from Greenwoods GRM LLP, Hegarty Solicitors LLP, Hunt & Coombs, Metcalfe Copeman & Pettefar, Peterborough Magistrates, Stapleton and Son Solicitors and Sloan Plumb Wood LLP.
CONGRATULATIONS
Paddy baffled us all with his challenging number themed questions including a final “killer” round. There were some high scores and for several rounds the scores were extremely close between a number of teams. In the end “Whatever” (Peterborough Magistrates Court) were crowned champions, stealing the title from Metcalfe Copeman & Pettefar and being presented with a bottle of champagne and the Lawrence Bruce Memorial Shield.
Through the sale of raffle tickets, we managed to raise a fantastic £85.00 for Peterborough Soup Kitchen so thank you very much for your generosity! Well done to Hazel Chapman on winning a bottle of champagne and Steph Hunter (Metcalfe Copeman & Pettefar) on winning a dessert themed box of chocolates.
COMMISERATIONS
“My Personal Favourites” (aka Hunt & Coombs) took home the wooden spoon prize - a numbers sticker book which included gold star stickers.
THANK YOU
We would like to say a big thank you to the Brewery Tap for hosting and providing the delicious buffet.
Last but not least, thank you to Paddy for being an excellent Quizmaster and to Hazel for keeping score.
